5/2  AAPI Art Exhibition: Dreams of the Dragon

Attend this exclusive event hosted by Creativo as part of the Milken Conference Series. It will include VIP reception celebrating AAPI artists –  bringing the community of tech, finance, family offices, art, and film together. RSVP to attend this event. Location to be announced soon!


5/3  L.A. Region Small Business Summit

When: May 3, 2023

Where: Los Angeles Trade Tech College, School of Culinary Arts at 400 W. Washington Blvd.

Time: 9 AM to 2 PM

The Los Angeles County Department of Economic Opportunity, the Los Angeles City Economic and Workforce Development Department, and the  Los Angeles Mayor’s Office of Business and Economic Development will be hosting its first Los Angeles Region Small Business Summit on Wednesday May 3, 2023 from 9  to 2 pm, in celebration of National Small Business Week.

The event will focus on helping small businesses recover, grow, and thrive beyond the challenges that they currently face. This celebration will include remarks from County and City representatives, panel discussions, a resource expo, on-site services, and much more! 5/6 2nd Annual Valley Asian Cultural Festival

5/7 AAPI LA Market at Smorgasburg

When: May 7, 2023

Where: Smorgasburg at 777 S. Alameda St.

Time: 10 AM to 4 PM

AAPI LA’s biggest event of the year is back! Please join us at Smorgasburg from 10 to 4 PM on Sunday May 7 as we bring together 30 of the most delicious AAPI eateries, restaurants, and food/drink brands together for an annual celebration of food, music, and networking! This is A MUST!


5/12 AAPI Heritage Month Los Angeles City Council Presentation, Reception, and Awards at Los Angeles City Hall

What: Los Angeles City AAPI Heritage Month kick-off event

When: 10 am Council Presentation   |   11 am Luncheon

Where: LA City Hall 3FL (200 N. Spring St.)

This year we will be honoring several individuals with the R.I.S.E. (Representation that Inspires, Supports, and and Empowers) Award in the fields of entertainment, nonprofit, public service, and business sector. The moderator of this year is Kevin Kreider, an Actor of Netflix’s Bling Empire. We will also have performances, and a buffet-style of Asian gourmet food will be served by Star chef Katie Chin!

5/13 Cooking class with celebrity chef Jet Tila

Join Celebrity Renowned Chef Jet Tila as he teaches how to cook delicious dishes and about the history of Asian Cuisine! Additional details soon~


5/19 HAPA Day recognition (Americans of partial Asian or Pacific Islander descent)

When: May 19, 10:00 am -10:30 am

Where: Los Angeles City Hall Council Chamber (200 N. Spring St. LA, CA 90012)

Join Councilmember John S. Lee, and Councilmember Nithya Raman, the Los Angeles City Council, and the 2023 Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month Committee to officially announce May 19 as HAPA Day and the City reflects the prevalence and modern evolution of HAPA Americans (Americans of partial Asian or Pacific Islander descent).

5/20 Movie + Bento Box Night

When: May 20, 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Where: Wattles Garden Park (1850 N Curson Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90046)

Movie: Moana

Bring the family out for a night of food, music, movie, and karaoke…yes, karaoke! This is an opportunity for everyone to also support local businesses who will be selling bento boxes at the event. More details to follow!
